Welcome Queenie and Princess to East Lake Pet Orphanage! These sweet girls were surrendered recently and are looking for a new home. They are bonded and so must be adopted together as a pair.

Their adoption fee as a pair is $70.

More guineas.....

Each pair of Guinea pigs you see are bonded and should be adopted together. The adoption fee is $70 for each pair.

Facts about Guinea Pigs:

  • Guinea pigs need a friend in order to be happy. Not just in the form of you as the owner but also in the form of a fellow guinea pig. A guinea pig will feel much more relaxed and secure having a companion in the cage.

  • Guinea pigs love quality time with their owners, so handling your guinea pigs is great fun. Once your guinea pig gets to know you, then they'll enjoy being hand-fed and petted, so it's up to you how much you hold them - do so as often as you like.

  • Guinea pigs are wonderful pets for elementary-school-age kids and older. But remember, younger children should always be supervised around guinea pigs, just as with any other pet

Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet from East Lake Pet Orphanage. Adoption is one of the most meaningful and rewarding decisions you will ever make. We work hard to make the best possible matches between pets and people for the mutual enrichment of life.  We also understand that sometimes unforeseeable situations occur. If for any reason, an adoption is not successful, a pet may be brought back to us within 30 days, at which time the adoption fee is donated.  The one time adoption fee for pigs, pocket pets, etc. will vary based on the animal.

Adopted Pets Receive:

  • Veterinary examination

  • Health assessment

  • Nutritional assessment

  • Spay / Neuter surgery

  • Microchipping

  • Intestinal parasite screening

  • Deworming

  • Age appropriate vaccinations

  • Behavioral assessment

Path to Adoption

  • Application Submission: The first step in your path to adoption is to submit an application. Even if an application is pending for a particular orphan, we encourage you to also submit your application since circumstances of a potential adopter may change, or we may determine that an alternative match for a pet may be more suitable.

  • Application Verification:  The next step is the application verification which is initiated within 3 -7 days after submitting an application. Time to complete an application verification will vary depending on the response time of references.   Applications are often simultaneously received on site, on line, and at events, so the adoption process is not strictly based on first come, first served.

  • Adoption Approval:  Adoption matches are based on what is deemed best for both the adopter and the pet, and having complete, accurate, and verifiable information on the application. While date of application submission is given priority, it does not guarantee approval. When an application is approved, notification is received by email or phone.
